Adam at minafi.com crafted one of the internet’s best resources (seriously) for financial independence (a popular topic among personal finance bloggers).

It’s called An Interactive Guide to Early Retirement and Financial Independence and has brought him massive traffic, shares, and general recognition from the community.

The point? He spent loads of time and effort on creating something both engaging and fun, but also useful and completely unique. There’s nothing else like it I’m aware of!

How can you create an amazing, classic, unique, cornerstone piece of content for YOUR blog?

UNITE your blog tribe using a common enemy

Want to strengthen your reader loyalty?

  1. Identify a common enemy (you and your readers have)
  2. Share that enemy in your marketing, images, content, etc!

Ex: Personal finance bloggers LOVE to unite behind crushing debt. Fitness bloggers LOVE to unite behind weight-gains!

Find a common enemy, and use that in your marketing efforts.

Increase click-throughs with this emotional tactic

Using your headline as your social media copy is easy. It’s what everyone does, because it works….mostly.

Try this hack instead: Rather than just using the headline, post how you FEEL about the content you’re sharing.

For example:

“This is quickly becoming the favorite thing I’ve ever written.” or “I was scared to even post this. It’s embarrassing.”

These get click-throughs and will drive traffic!

A quick blog monetization strategy few people use :)

Posted in Random

// or listen on iTunes // Overcast // Google Play

Tons of bloggers write written content. Few YouTube, and fewer produce audio (podcast or otherwise).

Try reaching out to busy bloggers, and offer to turn their top pieces of content into a different format!

If you’re good at playful videos, offer that, if you’re good at audio, offer that, if you’re good at creating powerpoints, do that!

Pro Tip: Do it once for free, and just email it to them!

If you want other people to share your content, you need to make it as easy as possible to do so!

Copy/pasting URLs is a pain, and asking people to share via email is annoying too. They still have to click through to your website.

So –>

Create share links! These are pre-filled tweets, pins, and shares that open up with ONE click of a mouse.

Try Click To Tweet for twitter, and Share Link Generator for Pinterest, Facebook, LinkedIn, and more!

The ridiculous value of meeting bloggers in person

Today’s tip is fantastic one from SaraEllen at http://saraellenhutchison.com/.

To be frank, there’s only so much friendship and relationship building you can do over the internet (but don’t get me wrong, you should still totally do that).

But there’s no substitute for real life sometimes, and for old adage “it’s all about who you know” certainly holds true for blogging!

Relationships can and will do a TON for your blog and business growth, and meeting up with other like-minded people in person is a GREAT way to accelerate this process!
